Layering contrasting & complimentary colored squares while leaving windows to look through. Directional patterns & textures draw the observer to sense motion & movement. The concept is to mimic the idea of particulates, vibrations of energy, and the great interconnectedness of all things.
The Freedom Flight Series (still ongoing) has a flock of over 8 paintings now, & still taking commissions. The image of the bird in flight felt important, as a symbolic image that would resonate & offer an uplifting experience to the viewer.
On the artist path since early childhood, illustration & ink work mostly, leading to lithography printmaking, sculpture in my early post secondary arts education. Drawing inspiration from travels & living in all the beautiful places I can, throughout Canada & beyond. 30+ years of abstract acrylic painting, developing a style much online with a concept I have heard called "color field" & "initiative art" my use of layering with "windows" that allow the viewer to see through the painting has become my recognizable trademark.
Other specialty arts include folk art felting, sculpture, land/nature sculpting, paper mache.
